Welcome
Hello! My name is Christina Penny. I gladly accepted the role of Assistant Principal at Wilson Elementary in 2018, following 10 years of service at Stewartsboro Elementary School in Smyrna. Over my career I have had the privilege to work with students in first grade, third grade, and K-5 reading and math intervention.
I am a graduate of Smyrna High School. My undergraduate degree is in Interdisciplinary Studies K-6 from Middle Tennessee State University. I graduated from Bethel University with a Masters degree in Educational Leadership in 2013.
The mission of the Rutherford County school system is to “empower today’s students to grasp tomorrow’s opportunities.” My personal mission as an educational leader is to empower not only students but also my faculty and staff, so they will be prepared to grasp opportunities and achieve at high levels. I believe that creating a positive culture for EVERYONE is key to the success of this goal.
