About Me
My name is Jacci Hooper and I am the Gifted Education Facilitator at Wilson E.S, Walter Hill E.S., Lascassas E.S. and Kittrell E.S. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV and attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where I received my B.S. in Elementary Education. I began my teaching career in 1998. I taught 1st grade for 4 years and 2nd grade for 3 years while in Las Vegas. I also received my Master's Degree in Reading and Literacy Instruction during this time.
In September 2005, my family took a huge leap of faith and uprooted from Las Vegas to move to Tennessee. I was blessed to get a job at Wilson E.S. in November 2005 teaching 4th grade. The next year I returned to 2nd grade where I remained through 2014. I began a new adventure in RTI the following school year as a reading and math interventionist and spent the next 4 years serving as the Instructional Coach. I am currently serving as the Gifted Education Facilitator at multiple schools.
I am married to my hard-working husband, John, and together we have 3 adult children, Zack, Shay and Mason, a daughter-in-law, Zoe, and a son-in-law, David. Zack is a 2014 graduate of Southern Mississippi University, Shay is a 2018 graduate of MTSU and a 2020 graduate of ETSU and is a Speech Language Pathologist for Kingsport City Schools in East Tennessee, and Mason is a 2021 graduate from Mississippi State University with a degree in Marketing/Supply Chain and has started his new career with a large transportation company and lives in the Atlanta area. We have 2 precious golden retriever puppies named Mack and Mollie. Due to illness, Mack lost his vision and had to have a double enucleation right before his 2nd birthday. He has adjusted well and is the happiest boy. His new name is Mackie Wonder! We are absolutely smitten with them!
